The driving time  is about 5 to 6 hours and the scenery along the route is very interesting. It is  possible to see the Maasai villages, Ngorongoro highlands, and, finally,  the vast savannah of the Serengeti national park.

Lunch Stop: Having a packed  lunch in the middle of the journey, you will most probably stop near the Ngorongoro  Crater to have a view of the interior of the crater. Today is the day  that you will have a whole day game drive in the Serengeti National Park which is the  most famous wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania. The entire focus of today’s drive will be on searching for the  Big Five and understanding the dramatic behaviour of these animals that make this park famous. Start the day with  an early morning game drive, which is the best time to encounter the animals. The big cats such  as the lion and the leopard are usually very active at the dawn and at the dusk. After the  game drive, you will have breakfast at your early hours in the morning while in the middle of the  wild Serengeti. Continue with your search in the Seronera River area because the water  is available throughout the year which attracts a number of animals. The guide will assist you in searching for  the Big Five and you will be able to see a cheetah in the process of hunting for  its food across the savannahs. To make the experience even more memorable you can also go for  the hot air balloon safari which is at an extra cost and takes you across the Serengeti  plains before the sunrise. After such a long day, you will go back to the lodge or camp  to eat dinner and spend the night absorbing the African environment.

After you have taken your breakfast you will leave for one of the  most famous parks in the world, the Ngorongoro Crater. This is the largest  unexplored caldera in the world and it is one of the best places for witnessing the Big Five  wildlife species in their natural habitat. You will descend to the crater for a half day of game drive  and this is because the crater has high density of wildlife including the lions, elephants, buffaloes  and the black rhinos which are almost extinct. It is a sanctuary for wildlife with the floor of  the crater being covered by grasslands, acacia forests and wetlands.

Picnic Lunch at  the Hippo Pool: Have lunch at a picnic while being near hippo pool where one can have  a view of these huge animals rolling in the water. End-meal: You will have a game  drive in the crater then get back to Arusha in the late afternoon.
